February 2008 Winter time is at its peak, this is Snow Shoe season, Winter photography has many options, and the Big horn sheep spend a lot of time in the lower parts of the park.
March 2008 Winter is still here, Snow Shoe season winds down by the end of the month, Winter photography is amazing, sheep and elk are still easily found, and the park's birds are gearing up for spring.
April 2008 Spring is finally starting to melt the winter snows, the first wild flowers are coming into bloom, birds are starting to sing more, and the park is waking up from its winter slumber.
May 2008 Spring Wildflowers abound, Snow capped mountains make for great landscapes, Neotropical migrating birds arrive mid month. The mountains are full of bird song and beauty, and Trail Ridge opens around the 25th.
June 2008 Wildflowers are in bloom, birds are singing, Trail Ridge is open, all the mammals are getting active and moving higher up. Tundra wildflowers are reaching their peak.
July 2008 Summer in the Rockies, its green and beautiful. July is a great time for finding Moose on the west side of the park.
August 2008 Late season flowers are in bloom, the weather is nice, Coyotes and Badgers are extra active and the summer is winding down.
September 2008 Fall colors, the Elk rut starts around the middle of the month, and fall migrant birds are flying through.
October 2008 The Elk rut is in full swing almost all month, time to grab the camera.
November 2008 Snow starts to fall and its a great time to photograph winter landscapes.
December 2008 Early winter is a great time to snow shoe up to alpine lakes, and search out the parks winter birds and mammals that are still active.
